John Telfer

Widely recognized on an annual basis as one of the top agents in south Santa Clara County, John has carved an exclusive niche in the area of raw land development and pre-development properties. Whether it be Measure C and the new Measure S housing tracts or prominent commercial development in the area, John, through his 40 years experience, offers the expertise and professionalism his clients require.

Born and raised in Morgan Hill, John, as a fourth generation resident, follows in the footsteps of his grandfather, John Telfer, who was the longest serving mayor in Morgan Hill history, and his parents, Ernest and Ethel Telfer, who operated Telfer's Market from the 1930s through 1960s. It was Ernest and Ethel who later founded South County Realty and trained John in the real estate field. John also developed the necessary knowledge in real estate by receiving his business degree from San Jose State University with a concentration in Real Estate.

What sets John apart from other agents in the area is his extensive experience and knowledge of the entitlement process for projects, both large and small, and the marketing of these properties. Professionalism and personal service is of paramount importance to John, and he prides himself on having many repeat and referral clients that appreciate what a difference this attitude can make.

John has also been active in community affairs, being involved with city initiated economic development committees, and land use and recreational advisory boards. John also took over the Live Oak High School boy's volleyball program from 1999-2004, and coached three undefeated league championship teams during that time.

Away from the office, John is an avid skier, windsurfer, kiteboarder, wakeboarder and beach volleyball player, and loves nothing more than traveling and sharing these activities with his two sons, Matt and Erik, and wife, Diane.

Matt Telfer

After Graduating from UC Davis in 2004 with a major in communications, Matt went to work full time at South County Realty. While he specializes in the sale of land and estate homes, over the last decade Matt has also successfully closed many Commercial, Industrial, and Residential Development projects in South Santa Clara County. Being born and raised in Morgan Hill as a fifth generation resident, Matt has a unique knowledge of the local Real Estate Markets and what it takes to get his clients top dollar for their properties in this distinctive slice of Silicon Valley. Morgan Hill has changed a lot over the past 50 years, but one thing that has never changed is its sense of being a “family friendly” community which keeps drawing new residents from all over the bay area, and beyond.

When not in the office, Matt enjoys spending time being active with his wife and two young daughters. They often enjoy Snowboarding, Wakeboarding, Scuba Diving, Hiking, Cooking, and going to the beach with their English Labrador, “Rusty”.

Diane Telfer

Property Manager/Broker Associate

After attending UC Davis and graduating from San Jose State University with a degree in Social Science, Diane began her real estate career in sales by joining the family business at South County Realty. She now specializes in residential property management, with over 38 years of experience. Diane has established strong relationships with both her owners and rental clients and greatly values providing professional services and maintaining ethical standards.

Danielle Halla

Sales Associate

Active in the real estate industry since 1996, Danielle has a wide-ranging background, which includes resale of existing properties, new home sales, office operations and management, and property management services. A top producer, Danielle possesses the ability to guide clients through the complicated process of real estate transactions, providing the professional skills necessary to achieve a smooth and successful conclusion.

Danielle also possesses an extensive corporate background. Her business career began in Silicon Valley. There, she created and managed distribution of high-tech computer peripherals, equipment, and parts to foreign and domestic destinations and markets.

It is important to work with a “take charge” leader, and Danielle has proven her ability to lead, in the ever-changing, dynamic world of real estate. With the wisdom learned to work with people locally and overseas, she is able to utilize the relationship skills acquired in her prior profession to assist clients.

Erik Telfer

Sales Associate

Erik graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2007 with a major in Global Studies. After receiving his degree he started working at South County Realty. Like his brother, Matt, Erik is also a fifth generation resident of Morgan Hill. He has extensive home sales experience, learned from selling out residential home tracts such as Jasper Hill and Jasper Park in Morgan Hill.

Driven by his love for the outdoors and cold weather, Erik moved to Washington State in 2017, where he continues to work remotely for the family business.

Away from work, Erik enjoys hiking with his two Shiloh shepherds, Odin and Loki.
